Valentine's Day Gifts for Him - What to Get for a Husband or Boyfriend
64I must follow him, ever since he touched my hand I knew,
That near him I always must be.
And nothing can keep him from me,
He is my destiny.~~[To Know Him Is to Love Him by Lesley Gore]
It can be difficult to find the right Valentine's day gift for a man.
Most of the time, it seems that my boyfriend already has everything that he wants. Otherwise, the one thing that he wants is extremely expensive.
After a lot of trial and error as well as careful observation, I have found a set of gifts that are very successful with the men in my life. Hopefully, some of the ideas in here will work for the men in yours as well.
Without further ado, here are my favorite set of Valentine's Day gifts for him.

1. Valentine's Gifts for Him - Cool Gadgets
Most men I know have a weakness for electronic gadgets.
My father loves his stereo and television equipment. There are a variety of stereo and television accessories that make great gifts including headphones, sound meters, television calibration tools, and much more.
My boyfriend loves his iPhone. I am sure he would also enjoy an iPad and a Kindle reader!
If you are on a budget, consider getting some iPhone accessories. The iTunes store is a great place to build a personal Valentine's Day song list for that special someone. An iTunes list is fun for everyone, has your own special personal touch, and can be instantly delivered with no shipping costs.
Another gadget gift favorite is the timepiece. Yes, watches have been around for a long time, but they play a key role in male fashion. Part of being a really cool guy is to wear a really cool timepiece, like James Bond. The current Bond watch is the Omega Seamaster. It definitely looks very sharp on Daniel Craig - Rrrrr!
Another big plus of giving your man a Valentine's Day watch is that he will be wearing it and using it all the time. In this way, part of you can be with him throughout the day. Personally, I think a well designed timepiece makes a very romantic gift.
2. Valentine's Gifts for Him - Beverage with a Kick
Beverage? How can plain ole beverage make a good Valentine's Day gift??
Well, it is not just any beverage, but rather beverages with a special kick - such as coffee.
My boyfriend recently got very interested in making high quality coffee from home. According to him, brewing a good cup of home coffee is a very involved process which includes -
- Finding the right beans.
- Properly storing the beans so that they stay fresh.
- Roasting his own beans.
- Grinding the beans himself right before making the coffee.
- Getting a high pressure coffee maker that is able to extract the most flavor from the beans without leaving a bitter or acidic after-taste.
As a result, there are an assortment of equipment and accessories you can get for a coffee aficionado. So far I have gotten -
- The Vacu Vin coffee saver for storing beans.
- The Capresso burr grinder which apparently leads to a superior brew because it properly grinds up the beans without leaving any large chunks.
- The Brikka stove top expresso maker which directs high pressure steam uniformly over the coffee grind.
3. Valentine's Gifts for Him - Sports
Most men are passionate about at least one sport whether it be football, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, car racing, or golf. There are three gift categories in the sports area.
1. Sports Events
Tickets to key sports events make great gifts. Remember to get two tickets and make it into a fun date, with dinner afterward. This not only lets your special man enjoy his passion in sports, but also creates a great opportunity for some enjoyable bonding time.
If there are no local events of interest, then consider getting some t.v. tickets (pay-per-view). A date at home can also be very romantic and fun if properly planned.
2. Sports Memorabilia
There are a variety of sports memorabilia to choose from including t-shirts, jerseys, key-chains, photographs, art, autographed equipment, and much more.
3. Sports Equipment
Buying sports equipment for someone can be very tricky because you may not know what he is most comfortable using, which brand he likes most, and what special quirks different model types may have.
When it comes to getting equipment for a sports aficionado, it may be best to get a gift certificate. After all, a lot of the fun in buying sports equipment comes from picking exactly the right thing to get.
4. Valentine's Gifts for Him - Personalized Gifts
I love both getting and giving personalized gifts. A personalized gift is truly unique and involves a good amount of thought and effort.
One of the best places to go to create a personalized gift is Zazzle. They have a very easy to use graphical interface that lets you start making your own gifts in no time.
Here are some of the personalized gifts I have created on Zazzle.
If you get stuck and have some Zazzle gift design questions, please feel free to post them below. I will try to answer them if I can.

Thanks Vicki. Men are so difficult to shop for - if only they were more like women. ;)
